New Roof Materials
Asphalt Shingles
They are affordable, offer various attractive options, and protect your home from natural elements.
Two types include:
Organic shingles: A paper is saturated in asphalt and covered with granules. They are heavy but offer better stability in high winds. They tend to dry out and become less waterproof hence absorbs excess moisture.
Fiberglass shingles: A fiberglass mesh mat is covered in asphalt and topped with granules. They reflect some of the sunlight and provides the colour. They are lightweight and resists tearing.
Metal Roofing
Zinc, aluminium, and lightweight steel are the most common metals used. They are eco-friendly and very durable.
Wood Shingles & Shakes
Cypress, cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated pine are commonly used.
Concrete & Clay Roof Tiles
Newer and stronger materials are used in the manufacture.
They are made in three ways:
Concrete tiles are made using a lightweight blend making them tough and easy to work with.
Traditional clay tiles are reinforced to increase strength and durability.
Fiber cement tiles are made when clay and wood are blended into concrete providing lightweight strength.
Slate Roofing
Synthetic composite slate is attractive, lightweight, and affordable. Natural slate tiles are very durable but the materials are heavy.

Choose Your Tiles
Offering a fully tailored range of roofing tiles and finishes we use only the best material for the job. Each one of our teams are Marley approved installers and follow the Marley process and manufacturers specifications to ensure a full bespoke, quality tailor made finish.

Reasons To Get A New Roof in Central Scotland
1. The Age of Your Roof
Effects of bad weather, wind, and rain shorten the life of the roof. It is advisable to have a professional examine your roof if you’ve never replaced it before.
2. Chinmey Flashing
This is where the chimney meets the roof and this prevents water from entering your home. If damaged, it should be replaced and have your roof checked.
3. Missing Shingles
This means that there are holes in the roof exposing it to the elements and rotting. A professional will help you determine if you should replace the missing shingles or the entire roof.
4. Roof Valleys
They can corrode the roof in case leaves and debris are trapped. The rainwater fails to drain well and therefore overflow and drip onto your roof.
5. Signs of Water Damage
Your ceiling or walls is wet or have stains where the water dried out. The rainwater may leak into the house indicating your roof is leaking.

Central Scotland Roof Repair or Replacement?
A roof with minor wear should be repaired but if the damage is extensive, a replacement with entirely new roof tiles and structure must be installed. ERG offers new and replacement roofs in Glasgow and Central Scotland with offers on new roofs and roughcast deals that you won’t want to miss.
When Repair is Better
If your roof sustains minor damage within a small specific area and budget constraints limit you, consider repairing rather than replacing it, as a new roof can be quite costly. Opting to fix only the affected area can result in significant cost savings. Moreover, remember that a roof is designed to endure for many years, making timely repairs a wise investment in its longevity.
Benefits of Roof Repair

- Easy to arrange on short notice
- Allows you to maintain the classic roof intact
Benefits of Roof Replacement
- Your roof won’t require repairs for many years
- You get a roof that follows the current building codes
- Creates a new revitalised look to your home
